A Crack in the door?

  • Mood: Hopeful
  • Topic: Action not Words

Those of you who have read my blog know that I have been very critical of President Obama because he has not made any moves towards making Gays and Lesbians full and equal citizens as guaranteed by the Constitution.

I believe that he wants to end Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell (DADT). I know that his desk his been full of many important problems. I think he has listened to the so called “professional politicians” who have urge caution. He should listen to those who ELECTED him.

Major MoveS must be made on gay civil rights and DADT is a great place to start. I can count votes as well as any other person and I know that some policies will need congressional action. DADT does not. Obama can wipe out the one form of discrimination tomorrow. The sooner the better.

Now, Admiral Mullen is careful to say he is speaking from a personal belief. I think however, it might be the beginning of a campaign to FINALLY get this done.

It is about time – and there is a lot more to do!
